Dr. Shannon Nash

DVM, CVA, ACVCHM, CVTP, CVFT

Hi, I'm Dr. Shannon!

Integrative veterinarian, senior pet obsessed, and your new favorite resource for navigating life with an aging pet.

I'm here to make senior pet parenthood feel a little less overwhelming and a whole lot more doable.

Here's the thing about having a senior pet: the love doesn't get smaller.

But the questions get bigger.

What do I feed them now?

How do I manage their pain?

Is this normal aging or something more?

When do I know?

I've asked every single one of those questions myself — not just as a vet, but as a pet parent.

My dog Haley is 19 years old. Nineteen.

She's a puggle with IVDD, likely pug myelopathy, arthritis, early kidney disease, and cognitive dysfunction (yes, dogs can get sundowners).

She uses a wheelchair.

And she is still the light of my life.

Caring for her has taught me that even with years of veterinary training, senior pet care is hard.

It's emotional.

It's exhausting.

And doing it without trusted guidance?

I can't imagine.

That's exactly why I do what I do.

I created this space for you — the pet parent who has a million questions, not enough hours, and a whole lot of love for an animal who deserves the best of both.

My digital resources — courses, guides, tools, and community — are designed to take the overwhelm out of senior pet care and put the confidence back in your hands.

No jargon. No judgment.

Just practical, evidence-based support that actually makes sense for your life.

Because your pet deserves great care, and you deserve to feel good giving it.

The credentials behind the care:

✔ Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

✔ Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist

✔ Certified Veterinary Tui-na Practitioner (Medical Massage)

✔ Certified Veterinary Food Therapist

✔ Advanced Certification in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine

✔ Senior Dog Certified Veterinary Professional — Level 2

✔ Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinarian (CCRV) — in progress

I also completed two NIH T35 Research Fellowships at Stanford University, which gave me a deep foundation in evidence-based research and the ability to cut through the noise when it comes to evaluating new therapies and trends.

The short version: I've trained extensively in both Western and Eastern medicine so that I can offer you something most resources can't — a genuinely integrative perspective, grounded in science and wide open to what works.

My approach in a nutshell:

I'm not here to replace your vet or tell you conventional medicine is broken.

I'm here to fill in the gaps — the nutrition questions, the lifestyle adjustments, the complementary therapies, the "what else can I do?" moments that don't always get addressed in a 20-minute appointment.

I believe the best care for your pet lives at the intersection of Western medicine, Eastern medicine, and you knowing your animal better than anyone else.

My job is to help you bring all of that together.

A few fun things about me beyond the DVM:

  • I rarely watch TV (but I will talk about my current romantasy book obsession for hours)

  • Bacon is absolutely a food group

  • The beach is my reset button

  • I'm always enrolled in at least three courses — learning is my love language

  • I love arts and crafts and genuinely cannot walk past a craft store without going in

  • I don't love exercise, but I show up for it anyway (character development)

If you're in the thick of senior pet parenthood — welcome.

You're in the right place.
